ROOFTOP SOLAR FORECASTING HUB
Invitation to use the Hub
The Hub will be of interest to a range of groups interested in accurate, relevant and clear messaging on rooftop solar, and battery storage as increasingly popular solutions to energy affordability and climate change.
At the moment the program is only available for weather presenters, journalists and local government for communicating with their audiences. Other interested parties will be considered on a case-by-case basis. For members of these groups, request access to the studio using the link below.
Alternatively, if you would like a demonstration of how to use the studio you can sign up for that also.
Those who are created as a user of the studio will also be given access to the ‘talking points’ page that guides users on ways to make graphs relevant to their audience.
For example, ‘solar radiation’ is really useful for alerting consumers to which days provide the best opportunity to utilise solar energy, but forecasting which days have the least solar radiation can also communicate to consumers that avoiding energy usage on that day is very helpful in mitigating the need for retiring fossil fuel providers to increase their output.
The talking points page, also, guides users into how to make Kilowatt Hours and Megawatt hours meaningful, by comparing these values to units of domestic usage or the capacity of a fossil fuel power station etc.
