Laure Poncet
Laure Poncet is a science communicator specialising in climate storytelling. Originally from Switzerland, Laure began her career in Australia at the ARC Australian Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes, where she worked as a Communications Officer from 2023 to 2024. Since then, she has joined the ARC Australian Centre for Excellence in Antarctic Science as a Knowledge Broker, translating complex scientific topics into accessible narratives for diverse audiences. She is also the editor of the Bulletin of the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (AMOS), a quarterly publication featuring news, research, and events from across the AMOS community. Her work has appeared in various publications, including The Conversation, Architecture Australia, and Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics.
Laure holds a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric and Climate Science from ETH Zurich, as well as a diploma in journalism from the National Council for the Training of Journalists in the UK. She is currently completing a master’s degree in Conservation Biology at Macquarie University alongside her professional work.
